Rironsha was founded in 1947, in the aftermath of World War II, with a vision of “sowing seeds of richness” in a devastated Japan. Over time, those seeds sprouted and blossomed into a wealth of children’s literature that nurtured young readers. With the end of the Cold War, both Japan and the world entered an era of major transformation in the 21st century. The rapid advancement of digital technology now seems to challenge not only how we live, but also our values and even our very view of civilization.
