我們是依《原住民族語言發展法》第27條成立的全國第一個原住民族語言專業機構，由原住民族委員會捐助成立。簡單說，我們的工作就是讓各族語言能被更多人聽到、看見、學習、使用，並在這片土地上好好延續下去。 基金會的任務從研究、教材研發、語料典藏，到辭典編纂、資料庫建置、語言推廣乃至能力認證，涵蓋語言生命的每一個重要環節。我們希望把語言保存得更完整，也讓學習能更容易、更貼近生活，讓族語成為大家都能使用、也願意使用的語言。 我們的主要業務包括： 1.進行原住民族語言研究。 2.開發教學與學習資源。 3.蒐集與保存珍貴語料。 4.編纂各族語辭典。 5.建置語言資料庫。 6.推廣族語在生活中的使用。 7.辦理語言能力認證與出版教材。 8.其他促進語言研究與發展的工作。 基金會持續與族人、學者、學校與社群合作，把語言與科技、文化創意結合起來，讓族語不只被保存，更能走入更多人的生活。期待各族語言在未來能保持活力、持續創新，成為臺灣多語文化最美的聲音。

We were established under Article 27 of the Indigenous Languages Development Act as the first national institution dedicated to Indigenous language research and development, funded by the Council of Indigenous Peoples. In short, our work is to ensure that Indigenous languages are heard, seen, learned, used, and passed on across this land. Our mission spans every stage of language vitality: research, teaching material development, corpus collection, dictionary compilation, database construction, language promotion, and proficiency certification. We aim to preserve each language more completely and make learning easier, more practical, and closer to everyday life, so Indigenous languages become languages people can and want to use. Our main responsibilities include: 1.Conducting Indigenous language research. 2.Developing teaching and learning resources. 3.Collecting and preserving linguistic materials. 4.Compiling dictionaries for each language. 5.Building language databases. 6.Promoting language use in daily life. 7.Managing proficiency certification .and publishing materials. 8.Supporting all work that advances language research and development. We work closely with communities, scholars, schools, and cultural groups to connect languages with technology and creative expression. Our goal is not only to preserve languages but to bring them into everyday life. We hope every Indigenous language remains vibrant, innovative, and an essential part of Taiwan’s multilingual landscape.
