The Croatian stand is presented by the Association of Children’s Books of Crotia and publishing house Kasmir Promet. Kasmir Promet is a small, highly individual award-winning children’s book publishing company. Their picture books have received numerous national and international awards. The illustrator, Andrea Petrlik Huseinović is the Croatian candidate for ALMA – Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award 2019 (and was 2018, 2017) and she was Croatian candidate for Hans Christian Andersen Award 2018. Original illustrations from our picture are part of International Collection of Chihiro Art Museum in Japan. In 2008, UNESCO used an illustration from one of our picture books for a poster celebrating World Book and Author’s Rights Day.

This year Polish offer at the Taipei International Book Exhibition is all about diversity. To encourage the youth to read more Polish Office in Taipei prepared the booth full of newly published finest Polish literature of many genres that are presented in the latest Polish Book Institute’s catalogue New Books from Poland. Selection includes fiction, short stories, reportages, history books, art albums and comics. Among the authors there are some internationally recognized writers such as Olga Tokarczuk, whose books “Tales of the Bizzare” and “Flights” – in 2018 awarded with Man Booker International Prize, we present in our booth. This year we prepared some special events at the International Bar, so remember to check the program.

 

Switzerland A910

The Trade Office of Swiss Industries is bringing to TIBE a selection of literary works from Swiss authors. The wide variety of these titles, ranging from novels, and poetry to children’s books are bound to delight Taiwanese readers. Some of them are even prize or award winning books.

This year, the Swiss Office is especially excited to present a unique work on Etiquette. The book focuses on rules governing meeting & greeting, wining & dining as well as dress codes & styling. Not to mention that the authors’ know-how is based on decades of experience.

Also, for visitors interested in experiencing the Swiss culture first-hand, brochures about visiting Switzerland are available at the booth.
