Discover Italy, its culture and literature at the 2019 Taipei International Book Exhibition.

As in previous years, an Italian space will be set up by the Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office (IETCPO) within the European booth. In that area, visitors will be able to get familiar with a selection of books by Italian authors, which include both classics and contemporary works, all of them translated from Italian into Chinese.

 

Greece

A special selection of Children’s Greek books is presented in the Greek section of the EU pavilion, organized by the Hellenic Foundation for Culture. Children’s Illustrated books, Graphic novels,  Greek illustrators catalogues, Greek books in translation catalogues etc offer the opportunity for discovering an image of the world of Greek culture.

Portugal

A selection of 15 Portuguese books for young readers includind works written by the Portuguese most acclaimed and prestigious authors, such as Sophia de Mello Breyner, Luísa Ducla Soares, Alice Vieira, Teresa Gonzalez, António Torrado or António Mota.

A new generation of promising authors is also represented with Isabel Minhós Martins, Carla Maia de Almeida, Ana Pessoa, Conceição Dinis Tomé, Susana Cardoso Ferreira and Afonso Cruz. They have already received literary prizes in Portugal and some of them also abroad.

Most of the books are novels except ‘Outside – a guide to discouvering nature’, ‘Atlas dos exploradores’ [ Atlas of travels and explorers] and ‘Tailes and trailes’, the Lisbon guide in wich twenty Portuguese writers and twenty illustrators share their secret, nostalgic, imaginary, historical, lost, subterranean, dirty or utopian Lisbon.
