Éditions Verdier
The house was created in 1979, at a place called Verdier in Southern France. The first publications already outlined the main lines: literature, essays, Hebrew spiritualities. The catalog of nearly 800 titles now houses some important writers of contemporary French literature: Pierre Michon, Michèle Desbordes, Mathieu Riboulet… In 2020, Anne Pauly won the Inter Book Prize for her first novel Avant que j'oublie ("Before I forget"). Translated literature is widely represented (Italian, Spanish, Russian, German and Japanese). In non-fiction, we publish historians surch as Carlo Ginzburg and Patrick Boucheron, as well as philosophers like Barbara Stiegler, Jean-Baptiste Brenet, Pierre Vesperini...
