Taiwan/ Bologna 30: Illustrators Exhibition

1 February 2019 /

Since Hsu Su-hsia’s Water Buffalo and Straw Man became the first Taiwanese work selected for the Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition in 1989 30 years ago, a total of 43 Taiwanese illustrators were nominated 61 times, showing the country’s spirit in the art of illustration. With such an impressive track record, this exhibition aims to honor the works nominated over the past three decades.

While looking back on the past year’s changes, we are also looking ahead to future possibilities. Mimicking the idea of the gallery, the spatial layout and atmosphere of the venue is expected to transport visitors right into the future.

This pavilion is consisted of three main parts: 30 Taiwan Illustrators in Bologna, Recommended Books by Bologna-nominated Illustrators, the Best Non-fiction Books from the BolognaRagazzi Award, and the Illustrator's corner.
